Logan Simpson has an immediate opening for a regular full-time Senior Archaeologist / Project Manager to be based out of Colorado, preferably in our Fort Collins office.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and managing all phases of cultural resources projects including survey, archaeological monitoring, testing, and data recovery.
  • Technical report production.
  • Preparing scopes of work and cost estimates.
  • Meeting project scope, schedule, and budget obligations.
  • Opportunity for occasional fieldwork.
  • Some marketing and business development.
  • Collaborating with other service lines and staff in our various offices.

Position Requires:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Anthropology or a related field.
  • Qualifications for listing on Colorado State and BLM permits
  • 6+ years of cultural resources management (CRM) experience, including 2+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in Colorado.
  • Comfortable interacting and coordinating with clients, as well as government agencies and Tribal representatives, in a decision-making role.
  • Knowledgeable about Section 106 review process and other federal historic preservation and cultural resources regulations.
  • Knowledgeable about CRM in Colorado with demonstrated experience
  • Experience independently preparing, reviewing, and editing complex technical documents for a full range of cultural resources projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently and manage project workload.
  • Be able to work cooperatively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Willingness to conduct fieldwork when needed.
  • Ability to mentor other staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA).
  • Meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards for Archaeology.
  • Previous experience preparing cultural resources sections for documents related to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Compensation:

This is a full-time position paid on a salaried basis, depending on experience and education, as follows:

Associate Archaeologist: $64,400 – $79,040

Requires B.A., 6+ years professional experience, ability to be added to Colorado permits as a Crew Lead.

Senior Associate Archaeologist: $79,040 – $101,920

Requires M.A., 12+ years professional experience, ability to be added to Colorado permits as a Principal Investigator.
