David Back

David Back is a seasoned professional in the venture capital and entrepreneurship sectors. Currently serving as Managing Partner at Icarus Ventures since September 2019, David focuses on investing in trusted leadership across diverse stages and sectors. David has also been a Speaker with The London Speaker Bureau since November 2015, sharing insights on entrepreneurship and globalization. As Co-Owner and Chairman of Tattered Cover Book Store, Inc. from December 2020 to August 2024, David has deep roots in the independent bookstore community, having started as a cashier at the age of 15. Prior experience includes co-founding and presiding over Zoomcar, India's first self-drive car rental service, and roles at prominent organizations such as Goldman Sachs and McKinsey & Company. David's academic credentials include a JD from Harvard Law School, an MBA from the University of Cambridge, and a BA in History from the University of Pennsylvania.
