Alex Campbell

Alex Campbell serves as the Director of Policy and Partnerships at the Long Duration Energy Storage Council since September 2023, focusing on the integration of long duration storage technologies into electricity grids. Prior to this role, Alex was the Head of Research & Policy at the International Hydropower Association, managing research related to sustainable hydropower and renewable energy. Previously, Alex held significant positions at the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Department of Energy and Climate Change, leading policy developments in renewable energy and international nuclear compliance. Early career experience includes roles at RenewableUK, Ofcom, Oftel, and MCI Worldcom, contributing to consumer policy and telecommunications support. Alex holds multiple advanced degrees from the University of Sussex and the University of Leeds, specializing in climate change, communication, and international political economy.
