Sara Detlefsen

Sara Detlefsen currently serves as the Head Women’s Golf Coach at Long Island University. Previous experience includes holding the position of Senior Coordinator for LPGA Foundation Programs from April 2022 to April 2024, and working as a Teaching Professional at Sanford Health from January 2021 to March 2022. Sara was also a Professional Golfer on the Symetra Tour from August 2015 to August 2021, and served as a Teaching Professional and Director of Instruction at Somerby Golf Club and Raptor Bay Golf Academy, respectively, from May 2016 to January 2021. Earlier in their career, Sara worked as a Student Athlete Services Intern at Florida Gulf Coast University. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Government from Florida Gulf Coast University.
