Barya Kabalan

Barya Kabalan, CPHR, has a diverse work experience in the field of human resources. Starting in 2004, they worked at Sanjel Canada Ltd. in various roles such as HR Advisor, Payroll Supervisor, and Recruiter. Barya was responsible for tasks such as revising corporate forms and policies, conducting employee orientations, and managing employee terminations.

In 2008, Barya joined Long View Systems, where they held several senior positions. Barya served as the Director of People Services and DE&I Lead, overseeing human resources operations and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Prior to this role, they were the Sr. Human Resources Manager and DE&I Lead, providing comprehensive HR support to different teams within the organization.

Barya also had experience as Compensation and Human Resources Team Lead in Long View's Amsterdam office. In this role, they managed all aspects of the branch's HR operations, including the creation of HR policies and procedures, onboarding new hires, and implementing local benefits plans. Additionally, they worked as a Sr. Human Resources Advisor, providing HR support to Long View's Board of Directors, Executive team, European teams, and Head Office teams.

During their career, Barya has gained expertise in areas such as performance management, retention, succession planning, immigration support, compensation, and employee relations. Barya has also been involved in projects such as implementing a global People Services Portal and supporting the implementation of a new ERP system.

Barya Kabalan, CPHR, obtained a Human Resource Management Certificate from the University of Calgary in 2010. In 2019, Barya attended CPHR to earn a CPHR degree.
