The Position

We are seeking an experienced, curious, and highly analytical Airline Pricing Expert to join our innovative team. In this role, you will act as a thought leader in the development of Longtail’s evolving products and features, providing domain expertise and guidance to inform and continuously drive increased value through our solutions. You will be the focal point of contact regarding the functioning of Longtail’s pricing algorithms, and act as a product expert in front of user airlines, providing guidance and understanding regarding Longtail’s configuration, capabilities, and use cases.

You will own documentation of existing and new algorithms as well as be part of the testing and validations of new features and products in development. You will also keep abreast of the latest industry developments regarding dynamic pricing, distribution, personalization, retailing, and interlining, providing research and advice regarding new avenues for value growth. 

In this role you'll

  • Develop and maintain an accurate and granular understanding of the Longtail platform pricing modules, updating all relevant documentation to provide a clear and accurate understanding of use cases, configurations, and algorithms
  • Conduct technical deep-dives, workshops, and product demos for prospect and existing customers, showcasing the sophistication and value-adding features and performance of the Longtail platform and its pricing algorithms
  • Act as a thought leader and domain expert regarding best-in-class and  the latest airline pricing, retailing, and distribution practices, collaborating with Solutions, Product and Engineering teams to develop new value-adding features and evolve existing algorithms
  • Become a key component in the testing and validation of new product features and algorithms, communicating back to Solutions, Product and Engineering teams on findings and providing guidance towards a full user acceptance
  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Product Operations responding to customer queries regarding specific scenarios and/or outputs, conducting detailed audit analyses, and communicating findings in a clear, transparent, and convincing manner
  • Derive performance metrics and indicators to track the effectiveness and impact of Longtail pricing algorithms, as well as conducting adhoc analyses on specific revenue performance topics
  • Ensure pricing compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in pricing strategy, pricing operations, market  management or RM preferably in a major O&D network airline
  • Good understanding of interlining and SPA principles, especially with regards to airline pricing and distribution
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data modeling and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency in pricing tools and software, including advanced Excel, SQL, ATPCO Fares Manager and GDSs
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex pricing concepts to stakeholders.

Preferred Qulification

  • Experience in a SaaS revenue management & pricing or travel technology sector.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven pricing models and algorithms.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
