Joanne Thurston

Joanne Thurston is a seasoned professional in the field of quality control and analytical chemistry, currently serving as Head of Quality Control and Head of Characterisation at Lonza since May 2020. Prior to this position, Joanne held various roles at Porton Biopharma Ltd, including QC Analytical Manager and Chromatography Laboratory Manager from April 2018 to May 2020. Joanne’s experience also includes leadership as Team Lead for purification and analytical tasks at Peptide Protein Research Ltd from April 2014 to March 2018, and as a Peptide Chemist at the same company from July 2008 to April 2014. Earlier in the career, Joanne worked as a QC analyst at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, performing analytical testing in accordance with cGMP protocols. Joanne earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Southampton in 2008.
