Ramesh Koukuntla

Ramesh Koukuntla is an accomplished professional in the biotechnology field with extensive experience in viral vector platforms and process development. Currently serving as Director of R&D at Lonza since March 2025, Ramesh leads the establishment of regulatory-compliant manufacturing frameworks while managing cross-functional teams to enhance operations. Prior roles include Scientific Advisor at Anemoi Biotech Holdings Inc and Head of Process Development Operations & Innovation at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, where Ramesh drove strategic initiatives and operational excellence in gene therapy and viral vector development. With previous experience at Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, NewLink Genetics Corp., and BioProtection Systems Corporation, Ramesh has a strong background in vaccine research and development, culminating in a PhD in Genetics from Iowa State University.
