Jolyn Gisselberg

Experimental Biologist at Loon

Jolyn Gisselberg has a diverse work experience spanning across various organizations. Jolyn is currently employed at X, the moonshot factory, where they serve as an Experimental Biologist. In this role, Jolyn is part of an early stage team at X that focuses on the intersection of life sciences and computation. Prior to their current position, they worked as a Contract Experimentalist at X, the moonshot factory, through US Tech Solutions from June 2018 to May 2019. Jolyn also has experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University from July 2013 to June 2018. Additionally, they served as a mentor at California College of the Arts from 2014 to 2016 and as a Graduate Student at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health from 2005 to 2012.

Jolyn Gisselberg began their education journey in 2001 when they enrolled at the University of Oregon. Jolyn spent four years there and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. Following their undergraduate studies, Jolyn pursued further education at The Johns Hopkins University. From 2005 to 2012, they dedicated herself to their doctoral studies and successfully obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry.
