Adrian Nicholls is an Engineering Manager leading the Utilities, Building Services and Sustainability team at Lorien. He has extensive experience in the design, implementation and commissioning of utilities installations and renewable energy projects.

Adrian is an experienced engineer and manager who has worked in various capacities in process industries managing utilities, in front-end/feasibility studies, design of piping and distribution systems for industrial services, plant improvement & new equipment/plant installation projects and their project management & commissioning.

Significant major projects include utilities recovery and rebuild projects following the Canterbury Earthquakes in New Zealand, Process optimisation of incineration plants in the UK, installation of CHP plants in wastewater plants and capacity increases / modifications in the food and beverage industry.

Adrian’s skills include, high level feasibility studies and surveys, detailed design of utility installations, design calculations (mass and energy balances, pump sizing etc.), site and project management, programme management and coordination, plant commissioning and optimisation. Technically, Adrian and his team design systems concerned with heating, ventilation, controlled environments, hot and cold-water services, gas utilities, laboratory gases, chilled water, refrigeration systems and effluent treatment for both commercial, industrial and heritage projects. The team also delivery renewable energy projects, including biomass, energy from waste, and biogas installations.
