Vrinda Venu

Vrinda Venu has extensive research experience in the field of evolutionary genomics, currently serving as a Guest Scientist and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Los Alamos National Laboratory since March 2021, focusing on host chromatin remodeling in response to viral infection. Prior to this role, Vrinda was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Friedrich Miescher Laboratory of the Max Planck Society from September 2014 to January 2021, where the research centered on the molecular basis of marine-freshwater variation in chromatin accessibility. Vrinda completed a PhD in Evolutionary Genomics at the Max Planck Society from September 2014 to March 2020, and earlier obtained a BS-MS degree in Biology from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram, in 2014. Additional research experience includes summer internships at the Rajiv Gandhi Centre For Biotechnology and the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, where projects focused on model organisms and genetic rhythms in Drosophila melanogaster.
