Simboa Wright

Simboa Wright is a City employee for the Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation, an SEIU Local 721 Executive Board Member, and Chair of the SEIU 721 African American Caucus. Raised in South Los Angeles, Mr. Wright began his career in civil service with the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, first as a Corpsmember and then working as a supervisor connecting youth with environmental projects. He also collaborated with the California Conservation Corps to maintain trails in Yosemite National Park through their Backcountry Program. Simboa was then recruited to work with California State Parks. In 2001, he started working for the residents and City of Los Angeles as a Maintenance Laborer and was promoted twice to become a Wastewater Collections Worker II in the Bureau of Sanitation. Simboa began his union leadership as a steward, then bargaining team member, and is currently elected as an SEIU 721 Executive Board Member.
