Russell Sakamoto

Russell Sakamoto, CPA has extensive work experience in the field of accounting. Russell started their career as a Senior Auditor at McGladrey in 1995 and gained valuable experience in auditing. In 1997, they transitioned to Nestle USA as a Financial Analyst before moving on to Entravision Communications in 1998. At Entravision, they held the positions of Chief Accounting Officer & Controller for over 15 years, showcasing their expertise in financial management and accounting. In 2013, Sakamoto joined Bridgepoint Education as their Chief Accounting Officer, where they served for four years. Their most recent position was with the Los Angeles Times, where they held the role of Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) starting in July 2018. Overall, Sakamoto's career has been focused on accounting leadership and financial analysis.

Russell Sakamoto, CPA (Active) obtained a BA degree in Economics/Business from UCLA, where they studied from 1988 to 1993. In 1995, they became a Certified Public Accountant through AICPA. Russell has also obtained additional certifications including "Cybersecurity at Work" from LinkedIn in 2022, and various certifications related to communication and cultural competence from LinkedIn in 2020.
