Maria Rangel-Hernandez

Maria Rangel-Hernandez, Ed.D., currently serves as the Head School Counselor at Antelope Valley Union High School District since April 2016. Previously, Rangel-Hernandez worked as a College Counselor for Alliance College-Ready Public Schools from June 2014 to March 2016, and as a Long Term Substitute Teacher/Counselor at Montebello Unified School District from September 2011 to June 2014. Rangel-Hernandez began a career in counseling at Los Angeles Unified School District as a Guidance Counselor from June 2007 to August 2011. Educational achievements include a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership and Administration from California State University, Long Beach, along with a Master's degree and Pupil Personnel Services Credential in Educational Psychology from California State University, Northridge. Additionally, Rangel-Hernandez holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology/Chicana/o Studies from the same institution. Currently pursuing a Preliminary Administrative Credential in Educational Leadership and Administration at California State University, Long Beach, Rangel-Hernandez demonstrates a strong commitment to educational development and student support.
