Amy Hook-Poirier has extensive work experience in the field of early childhood education. Amy is currently working as an Instructor in Early Childhood Education at Louisiana State University since 2023. Prior to this, they held various roles at the Louisiana Department of Education, including Executive Director of Early Childhood Strategy, Director of Community-Level Strategy and Systems Integration, Manager of Systems and Community Level Strategy, and Manager of Early Childhood Lead Agency Support. Amy started their career in 2013 as the Director of Early Childhood at the Center for Development and Learning (CDL) and worked there until 2020.
Amy Hook-Poirier has a diverse education history. Amy obtained their Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from Butler Community College in 1997. Amy then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Education/Communicative Disorders and Sciences from Wichita State University, which they completed in 2000. Additionally, they completed Graduate Studies in Speech Language Pathology at Wichita State University in 2001. Most recently, Amy achieved a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kansas State University, which they completed in 2020.
