Emilia Urban

Emilia Urban has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Emilia began their career as a Preschool Teacher and Youth and Children's Intern at Woodruff Road Christian Church in 2011. Emilia then worked at Clemson University as a Resident Assistant and later as a Community Development Assistant. Emilia also served as a Conference Aide at Clemson University Housing Summer Programs in 2014. Emilia joined Teach For America in 2015 as a Corps Member. Emilia then took on the role of Early Childhood Educator at Democracy Prep Public Schools in 2017 before transitioning to Democracy Prep Baton Rouge as a Data and Technology Manager in 2018. Emilia later gained experience as a Policy and Research Analyst at the Louisiana Department of Education from 2020 to 2021. Emilia's most recent positions include Director of Accountability Policy and Deputy Chief of Staff at the Louisiana Department of Education, which they have held since 2021 and 2022 respectively.

Emilia Urban received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government from the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. In addition to their undergraduate degree, they hold a certification in Early Childhood Education from the Louisiana Department of Education, obtained in October 2016. Emilia also obtained a Leadership certification from Clemson University, although the exact date of attainment is unknown.
