Ana Zorrilla Harris has had two main roles in their work experience. Ana started their career as the Executive Director of Breakthrough Collaborative in 1999, where they focused on providing educational opportunities for high talent middle school students by having them learn from high school and college students. Ana held this position until January 2006. After that, they joined the Louisiana SPCA as the CEO, where they have been responsible for promoting and protecting the well-being of companion animals throughout the state. Under their leadership, the organization has grown from a $3M operation to over $7M and serves nearly 40,000 animals each year through various services including sheltering, adoptions, and veterinary care.

Ana Zorrilla Harris completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language and Literature, General from Loyola University New Orleans in the years 1992 to 1995. Ana then pursued a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General at the University of New Orleans from 1998 to 2001. In addition to their formal education, Ana Zorrilla Harris obtained a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021. Ana also holds a certification as a Certified Animal Welfare Administrator from the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators, although the specific date of completion is not provided.
