Joe W. Ramos

Joe W. Ramos, PhD, currently serves as Director of the LSU LCMC Health Cancer Center and CEO of the Louisiana Cancer Research Center, focusing on reducing cancer burdens in Louisiana and achieving NCI designation. Previously, Dr. Ramos held multiple leadership roles at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center, including Interim Director, Deputy Director, and Professor, where responsibilities encompassed strategic planning and cancer research. Dr. Ramos has extensive academic experience, having also served as Chief Academic Lead and Director of the Cancer Biology Program, along with positions at Rutgers University and the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Dr. Ramos earned a PhD in Cell Biology from the University of Virginia and completed postdoctoral training at Scripps Research in Signal Transduction.
