John Thomas

Senior Deputy Principal, Head of School & Head of Senior School at Lourdes Hill College

John Thomas is currently the Deputy Principal of Mission at Lourdes Hill College. Prior to their current role, John worked closely with the Queensland Studies Authority as the State Review Panel Chair for the Study of Religion. In this role, John worked to ensure that correct procedures were being followed in the implementation of the 2008 Syllabus for Study of Religion. John also worked with schools across Queensland to ensure that their programmes and assessment tasks met QSA requirements.

Before their time at the Queensland Studies Authority, John was an Assistant Principal at St Thomas More College in Sunnybank, where they spent 17 years working with staff, students and parents. During their time at St Thomas More College, John was instrumental in helping the college grow significantly.

John is a passionate advocate for Catholic education and is looking forward to their next adventure at Lourdes Hill College.

John Thomas has a Master of Theology from the University of Newcastle and a Cert IV in Training & Assessment from LearnMe, a private provider.

They are on a team with Jo Brasch - Mcphee - Assistant Principal - Students, Tim Reid - Assistant Principal - Administration, and Kath Perrier - Assistant Principal - Learning & Teaching. John Thomas reports to Robyn Anderson, Principal.
