Alex Alsup

VP of Research & Development at Loveland Technologies

Alex joined the Regrid team as its first employee in 2012 and worked with the team to develop its product suite and execute some of its first major projects, such as Detroit's first citywide property condition survey, Motor City Mapping. Inspired to see how Regrid's data & software could be used to reform housing & land use policies, investments, and programs he joined the philanthropic arm of Rocket Mortgage, the Rocket Community Fund, in 2016 and spent several years leading their philanthropic housing investments. He's been back with the Regrid team since 2022 as Vice President of Research & Development, leading Regrid's Data With Purpose program and developing new applications for Regrid's suite of data, tools, and expertise. Alex is based in Detroit, MI. His Wu-Tang name is Ol' Mucky Terrahawk. He enjoys taking pictures of pictures of Detroit houses over time via Google Street View for his oft-referenced work, GooBing Detroit.
