Helena Jesus has extensive work experience in various roles related to administration, human resources, translation, teaching, and tutoring. Helena started their career in 2000 at Residência André de Gouveia, where they worked as a teacher and translator, providing French lessons and support in reading and correcting French academic works. Helena also handled library organization. In 2002, they joined Université Paris IV - Sorbonne as a Lectrice, a position they held until 2004. From 2005 to 2007, they worked as a Tuteur at université paris sorbonne nouvelle. In 2005, they also began working at The London School as a teacher and translator, a role they held until 2011. Furthermore, they worked at CCLS as a teacher and translator from 2007 to 2009. In 2009, they joined Eiffel School in the same capacity but left in 2010. In 2009, they also started working as a Translator at Alliance Française de Porto, remaining there until 2021. In 2010, they became a Member 1349 at Associação Portuguesa de Tradutores. Helena'smost recent work experience is at Lovys, where they joined in 2019 as a Human Resources Manager and now serves as an Admin Manager. Overall, Helena has a diverse background encompassing translation, teaching, administration, and human resources management.

Helena Jesus has a diverse educational background. Helena earned their Ph.D. in Etudes du monde lusophone from Université Sorbonne Nouvelle in 2011. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in Etudes portugaises, brésiliennes et de l'Afrique lusophone in 2002 and their Maitrise degree in Langues littératures et civilisations étrangères, spécialisation portugais in 2001, both at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle. Helena'sundergraduate education took place at Universidade de Coimbra, where they obtained a Licenciatura in LLM- português-francês between 1991 and 1995.

In addition to their formal education, Helena has also pursued various certifications throughout their career. Helena became an Associate Member of APTRAD - Associação de Profissionais de Tradução e de Interpretação in April 2018 and of Associação Portuguesa de Tradutores in September 2010. More recently, they have obtained several certifications from LinkedIn, including "Sleep Is Your Superpower," "Développer un état d'esprit d'apprenant," "PowerPoint Essential Training (Microsoft 365)," "Confidence: How to Overcome Self-Doubt, Insecurity, and Fears," "Dealing with Grief, Loss, and Change as an Employee," "Enhancing Resilience," "Microsoft 365: Choose the Right Tool for the Job," "Microsoft Teams Quick Tips," "Microsoft Teams Tips and Tricks," and "Support your Mental Health During Challenging Times." The LinkedIn certifications were obtained between November 2022 and February 2023.
