Peter Knowlton

Peter Knowlton has extensive experience in astrophysics research and public science outreach. Currently a Research Assistant at Lowell Observatory, Peter investigates the evolution of circumstellar disks around young binary stars. Previous roles at Lowell Observatory include Science Liaison, where Peter connected scientific and outreach efforts, and Public Program Educator, engaging the public through tours, scientific talks, and telescope operations. During tenure at Williams College, Peter researched protoplanetary disks and served as a Planetarium Teaching Assistant, while also holding positions in event management and teaching Nordic skiing. Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Astrophysics from Williams College and has international study experience from Boston University.
