Samy A. Akli is an Associate at Lowenstein Sandler. Samy was previously with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP from September 2017 to September 2018, where they worked as an Associate in the Technology Companies Group, specializing in emerging companies and venture capital.
Mr. Akli has experience with cross-border transactions, including "flips" of French companies into the US (Delaware C-Corps) and US financings. Samy has also worked on domestic (French) transactions, including early-stage financings in French startups (company-side). Samy's responsibilities have included drafting common stock/preferred stock financing documentation (Shareholders' Agreement, Representations & Warranties, Schedule of Exception, Shareholders' Special Meeting Minutes, Board Consents, Amended Bylaws, Proxies etc.), as well as issuances of common and preferred stock, issuances of stock-options and warrants (BSPCE, BSA, Actions Gratuites, Options de Souscription ou d'Achat d'Actions) and convertible bonds (OCA, ORA).
Samy A. Akli has a Master of Laws from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, and a CAPA from the École de Formation professionnelle des Barreaux de la Cour d'appel de Paris. Samy also has a Master's Degree in Law and Business from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Appliquées du Droit - HEAD, and a Master's degree in International Business Law from Université René Descartes (Paris V). Samy also holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from Université René Descartes (Paris V) and a High school diploma (Baccalauréat) in Literature from Lycée Sainte Clotilde.
