Yu-Chuan (Aaron) Chen has a strong background in biostatistics, starting with their work as an Instructor at the Dept. of Applied Mathematics & Statistics, SUNY at Stony Brook from 2010 to 2012. During this time, they taught an undergraduate statistics course for non-mathematics majors, taking on responsibilities such as syllabus design, lesson delivery, and grading.
In 2014, Chen worked at the FDA as a Postdoctoral Fellow before transitioning to the role of Mathematical Statistician from 2015 to 2016.
From 2016 to 2019, Chen served as a Sr. Principal Biostatistician at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR).
In 2019, they joined Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Oncology as a Principal Biostatistician and later became an Associate Director of Biostatistics from 2021 to 2022.
Currently, Chen is employed at Loxo Oncology at Lilly, starting as an Associate Director of Biostatistics in 2022 and later promoted to the position of Senior Director in 2023.
Yu-Chuan (Aaron) Chen has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Statistics from Stony Brook University, which they obtained from 2009 to 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Statistics from Rutgers University from 2007 to 2009. Chen also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Geography from National Taiwan University, which they completed from 2000 to 2005. Additionally, they have certifications in Python Data Structures, Introduction to HTML5, and Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python) from Coursera course certificates obtained in 2016. Chen also holds the SAS Certified Base Programmer Credential for SAS 9, obtained in 2012.
