Lublin Airport was opened in December 2012, and since then its passenger handling figures have increased regularly, exceeding 455 000 in 2018. The airport, located in Świdnik, serves the Lublin metropolitan area and is a catalyst for economic growth in the region (for instance development as a tourist destination).
