Candice Sgroi has a diverse background in corporate communications and investor relations. Candice is currently serving as the Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs at Lucapa Diamond Company Ltd, where they are responsible for managing investor relations, ESG initiatives, corporate communications, and brand strategies. Prior to their current role, they worked as the Head of ESG and Corporate Affairs at Pembroke Resources. Candice has also held positions at AACo as the Head of Investor Relations, Rio Tinto as the Manager of External Relations for Energy Resources of Australia Ltd, Kimberley Diamonds Ltd as the Head of Corporate Communications, Alacer Gold Corp. as the Director of External Relations, and Citigate Dewe Rogerson as the Director of Mining/Oil & Gas. Additionally, they have worked at Thomson Reuters as the Communications Manager for the Middle East & Africa region and at Pelham Public Relations as an Associate Director, specializing in mining and resources. Candice began their career as a television journalist in Australia and the United Kingdom.
Candice Sgroi pursued their education at various institutions throughout their professional career. From 2019 to 2022, they attended QUT (Queensland University of Technology) and completed an Executive MBA, focusing on advanced business administration and management skills. In 2022, they participated in the MIT Sloan Immersion Program at MIT Sloan School of Management, where they gained knowledge in digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
Additionally, in 2014 to 2016, Sgroi studied at the Governance Institute of Australia, earning a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance. Candice also received a Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs from The University of Queensland.
In terms of certifications, Sgroi obtained the "ESG and Social Responsibility" certification from AusIMM in May 2022. Candice is an Associate Member of the Australasian Investor Relations Association (AIRA) and a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia. Candice is also a member of Women on Boards.
