Min-Han Tan

Founding CEO & Medical Director at Lucence

Han is the Founding CEO and Medical Director of Lucence. He is a trained medical oncologist and clinical cancer geneticist. During his oncology specialist training, Han witnessed first-hand the great suffering caused by cancer. This inspired him to make it his mission to improve cancer care for the benefit of patients.

He joined the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in Singapore to advance clinical research and genomics technologies for cancer diagnostics. He is recognized for the landmark discovery of circulating tumour-endothelial cell clusters in the blood of cancer patients, which overturned a 50-year scientific dogma.

Han has published over 110 original research publications and filed 13 patents. In 2016, Han founded Lucence to ensure availability of accurate and accessible liquid biopsy testing for precision cancer care that can transform the lives of patients globally. He continues to serve as a Visiting Consultant at the Division of Medical Oncology, National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), Singapore, and a Visiting Scholar at the Faculty of Engineering, Waseda University, Japan.
