Zi Yi Wan

Zi Yi Wan has been working in the field of life sciences since 2013. Zi Yi began their career as a Junior Research Fellow at Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory, where they conducted bioinformatics analysis using high-performance computing clusters and wet-lab experiments to validate and support findings from bioinformatics analysis. Zi Yi then became an Assistant Research Officer, where they performed DNA genotyping for Asian Seabass, conducted parentage analysis using DNA markers for various species, and developed and improved platforms for NGS-based Genotyping-by-Sequencing, RADseq and ddRADseq. In 2020, Zi Yi Wan joined Lucence as a Tech Transfer & NGS Service Lead and Research Scientist II. As a Research Scientist I, they specialized in next-generation sequencing (NGS) assay development and validation, with a special interest in NGS-based liquid biopsy in oncology and immunotherapy to help doctors make informed choices in treatment.

Zi Yi Wan received a Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences from the National University of Singapore between 2009 and 2012. Zi Yi then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Biology at the Nanyang Technological University Singapore, which they completed in 2019. Zi Yi also holds certifications in Intermediate Python for Data Science and Introduction to Python from DataCamp.
