Giovanni Volpe

Giovanni Volpe is a Professor and Associate Professor at the University of Gothenburg since September 2016. Volpe serves as Conference Chair for Emerging Topics in Artificial Intelligence 2020, fostering an interdisciplinary dialogue between artificial intelligence and various fields such as photonics and biomedicine. Previously, Volpe was an Assistant Professor at Bilkent University from January 2012 to June 2019, with research focusing on statistical physics, soft matter, and optical manipulation. Volpe's career includes a postdoctoral position at the Max Planck Institute and a PhD at ICFO - The Institute of Photonic Sciences, where research topics included soft matter and optical tweezers. Giovanni Volpe holds a Master of Engineering in Telecommunications Engineering from Università degli Studi di Padova, earned in 2004.
