Chris Byrne has had a long and varied work experience in the software development field. Starting in 2008, they worked as a Software Consultant for Nokia, where they consulted on the development of a Windows and OSX multimedia desktop application and a PC-phone connectivity suite. In 2012, they began working as a Senior Software Engineer for PassWallet, where they were responsible for developing a mobile ticketing app. Chris also worked as a Software Consultant for Glowing Eye Games, Gloryhunter, Futunio, and K-Rauta, as well as the BBC. In 2015, they became a Director at Above Mobile Ltd, where they designed and developed a wide range of applications. Chris also worked as a Software Consultant for BPP in 2015. Finally, in 2017, they began working as a Software Consultant for Lucid Group, where they were responsible for the design and architecture of medical device software.

Chris Byrne has a diverse educational background. Chris obtained a PhD in Evanescent Wave Induced Fluorescence from Imperial College London in 2000. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science in Spectroscopic and Physical Methods of Chemical Analysis from the University of East Anglia in 1996. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Physics with a year in the USA from the University of East Anglia in 1995 and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Physics with a year in the USA from The University of Texas at Austin in 1994.
