Kanghee Ko

Manager, Supplier Industrialization Engineering - Chassis at Lucid Motors

Kanghee Ko has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Starting with the most recent, Kanghee worked at Lucid Motors as a Lead Engineer in the Technical Specialist role, responsible for developing the aluminum hot forming process for high-strength safety critical body parts and leading the industrialization of this new technology. Prior to that, Kanghee worked at Magna International as a Lead Quality Engineer, where they led the quality control group for painted plastic injection mold exterior parts for BMW, Hyundai, and Kia Motors. At Hyundai Steel America, Kanghee held the position of Quality Manager, overseeing the Supplier Quality Control, Internal Quality Control, and Customer Service divisions and troubleshooting material quality issues in the automotive industry. Kanghee also worked at Hyundai Steel as a Research Engineer and Sr. Research Engineer, focusing on research and development in automotive materials, including the design and development of nano-sized low temperature precipitation hardened materials. In their earlier career, Kanghee worked as a Research Engineer at Hyundai Motor Company, specializing in steel grades qualification and new steel specifications. Finally, Kanghee began their career in the Republic of Korea Air Force, serving as a Sergeant and focusing on quality control for F-16 Fighting Falcon Jet Engine components.

Kanghee Ko earned a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Hanyang University, where they studied from 1999 to 2005. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master's degree in the same field at Hanyang University from 2006 to 2008. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained an Adobe Certified Macromedia Flash MX Developer certification from Adobe in September 2002. Kanghee also obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Hyundai Motor Company in September 2009. Lastly, Kanghee Ko received the Additive Manufacturing for Innovative Design and Production certification from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in August 2019.
