Shelby Hayostek

Shelby Hayostek is a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer at Lucid Motors, having joined the company in August 2021 after a tenure as an Aerodynamics Engineer. Prior to this, Shelby was a Graduate Research Assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from September 2012 to August 2021, conducting a PhD research project focused on understanding three-dimensional separation on finite wings through various techniques, including flow visualization and Stereo-particle image velocimetry (SPIV). Shelby's experience at Boeing includes roles as a Flight Control Engineer, Logistics and Product Support team member, and Design and Structural Engineer, contributing to projects such as the 767, 777, and F-15 aircraft, while emphasizing system optimization and structural analysis. Shelby holds a PhD and a Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
