Vignir Jónsson

Vignir Jónsson started their work experience as a Software Developer at Advania in May 2011, where they focused on integration and BPM solutions for Íslandsbanki, Icelandair, and other clients using the webMethods platform. Vignir also worked on large ASP.NET MVC and WCF Service projects for Íslandsbanki. Vignir held this role until July 2014.

In 2014, Vignir joined Meniga and initially worked as a Software Developer. During their time at Meniga, they were responsible for integrating the Meniga solution with Core Banking systems for multiple clients across Europe. Vignir also led the automation effort in terms of CI/CD for integration projects.

From July 2017 to February 2018, Vignir served as a Senior Software Architect at Meniga. In February 2018, they were promoted to the role of Team Lead & Senior Software Architect, where they led a team and contributed to the architectural decision-making process. Vignir remained in this position until June 2022.

Currently, Vignir Jónsson is working at Lucinity, where they started as a Site Reliability Engineer in August 2022. Vignir then transitioned to the role of Engineering Director in April 2023.

Vignir Jónsson completed their MSc degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, starting in 2021 and finishing in 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a BSc degree in Computer Science from Reykjavik University, starting in 2008 and graduating in 2011.

In addition to their formal education, Vignir Jónsson also obtained a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster from ScrumAlliance in October 2012.
