Michael Walsh

Michael Walsh is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in the nonprofit and scientific sectors. Currently serving as the Head of Communications and Engagement at the Lucy Faithfull Foundation since 2018, Michael leads all aspects of communications for a child protection charity, managing a team to enhance brand awareness and engagement. Previous roles include Media and Communications Manager, Senior News and Content Officer at Cancer Research UK, and Communications Specialist for RiceMason, where Michael developed and executed strategic communication initiatives across various platforms. Michael also has experience in science communication from positions at the Science Media Centre and the Royal Society of Biology, and possesses a strong academic background with a Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry from Queen Mary University of London and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Glasgow.
