Carlos Andres Velasquez Gutierrez has a diverse work experience in the oil and gas industry. Carlos Andres began their career as an Internship and Trainee in Reservoir Engineering at YPFB Andina S.A. in 2016, where they gained practical knowledge in reservoir engineering. In 2018, they worked as a Wellsite Engineer at GIE | Ingeniería de Integridad, overseeing field operations.

In 2019, Carlos joined LUKOIL as a Reservoir Engineer, focusing on the design and monitoring of development fields. Carlos Andres then progressed to the role of Engineer 1st Category in Integrated Production Modeling / Production Optimization, where they standardized approaches to integrated production modeling systems and implemented optimization techniques. In these roles, they worked on various international projects, including those in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Republic of Congo, and Mexico.

Additionally, Carlos worked as an Associate Research Fellow at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) in collaboration with LUKOIL-Engineering. Here, they conducted research on high-viscosity oil displacement and field development planning.

Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Modeling physical and technological processes of field development from the same university, from 2019 to 2021. Carlos also holds a Master's degree in Drilling and well completion from Universidad Autónoma Gabriel René Moreno, which they obtained from 2017 to 2018. Carlos Andres began their academic journey by completing a Bachelor of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering from Escuela Militar de Ingeniería "Mcal. Antonio José de Sucre" from 2012 to 2016. Additionally, Carlos has acquired several certifications in various fields related to their studies, including flow assurance, integrated production modeling, well modeling, reservoir simulation, system management, geological simulation, and language proficiency in Russian and English.
