Irina Spicaka

Irina Spicaka has a diverse work experience in the field of UI/UX design and creative direction. Irina began their career in 2016 as a Senior UI/UX Designer at CodeControl, where they worked on various projects and contributed to building a community of freelancers. In 2018, they joined finleap as a Lead UI & Design System Designer, UX Specialist, and Brand Expert, where they collaborated with product, engineering, and creative teams to solve complex interaction problems and develop elegant designs. In 2019, they worked as a Lead UX/UI Designer at triple A code GmbH, contributing to the design of the Holoswitch app for VR users.

From 2020 to 2021, Irina held roles as a Senior UI/UX Designer at Wire™ and as an Influencer, AR/UI/UX Designer for Adobe MAX, where they created augmented reality applications, digital artwork prints, and designed promotional materials. In the same year, they also worked as a Lead UI/UX Designer at LUKSO, contributing to the design of blockchain applications.

In 2020, Irina served as a Lead UX/UI Design Teacher at Ironhack, mentoring and preparing junior designers for the industry. Irina also worked as a Lead UI/UX Designer at FORMEL Skin in 2021, where they redesigned and optimized the company's website.

Most recently, Irina joined LUKSO in 2022 as a UX/UI Lead. Their responsibilities in this role are not yet specified.

Irina Spicaka's education history includes various courses and degrees in a range of fields. In 1999 to 2003, they completed their high school education at Riga School of Arts and Crafts, specializing in Graphic Design. From 2007 to 2011, they earned their Bachelor's degree in Design and Visual Communications, General at the Art Academy of Latvia. Between 2009 and 2010, they participated in an exchange program at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, focusing on Fine Arts and Experimental Media.

Continuing their education, Irina pursued a Master of Arts degree in Design and Visual Communications, General at the Art Academy of Latvia from 2011 to 2013. During this time, from 2012 to 2013, they also took courses in Technology and Business at Aalto Open University & Aalto Media Lab.

In 2014, Irina further expanded their knowledge through additional courses. Irina completed a course in Digital Fabrication and 3D Printing at Fab Lab Berlin and participated in Web Frontend Co-learning at Open Tech School.

Moving forward, in 2016, Irina attended the School of Machines, Making & Make-Believe, where they studied Computer Vision and AI. In 2018, they briefly studied International Business through WIN—Women in Negotiation.

In terms of additional certifications, Irina obtained a certification in UX Design & Strategy for Emerging Technologies from New York University in December 2019. Prior to that, in September 2015, they achieved a certification in User Experience Design from CareerFoundry. Furthermore, in April 2014, Irina completed a certification in Programming, Synthesis and Signal Processing in Max from The Norwegian Center for Technology in Music and the Arts (NOTAM).
