Johan Larsson

Johan Larsson is a prominent academic and professional in construction management, currently serving as the thematic leader for Knowledge and Expertise at Smart Built Environment since March 2023. With a long-standing affiliation with Luleå University of Technology since October 2009, Johan holds the positions of Associate Professor and Head of the Construction Management and Building Technology Division. Their extensive research includes areas such as construction innovation, public procurement, transport infrastructure, and project management. Johan's experience also encompasses roles as a Senior Lecturer and Associate Senior Lecturer focused on innovation in publicly procured transport infrastructure projects, as well as serving as a Research Engineer and a Consultant in mechanics. Johan earned a Master of Science in Ergonomic Design and Production from Luleå University of Technology between 2001 and 2007, culminating in a PhD in Construction Engineering and Management with a thesis on radical innovation in the Swedish infrastructure sector.
