Kate King is a dedicated academic and professional with extensive experience in design and research. Currently a Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire since January 2020, Kate teaches Design Thinking and design research skills to students in the BA (Hons) Product & Industrial Design course, managing module design and delivery across all year groups. In addition, Kate serves as a LUMA Teaching and Learning Partner, providing training in Human Centred Design to organizations. As a Co-Mentor at Design Club, Kate nurtures empathy and problem-solving skills in children. Previous roles include Consumer Research Manager at Deliveroo, Senior Design Researcher at Tesco, and Senior HF Designer & Project Lead at IDEO, where a strong focus on enhancing customer experience was maintained. Kate holds a BA in Human Geography from The University of Sheffield and an MSc in Ergonomics from Loughborough University.
