Mesfin Mulugeta Gewe

Mesfin Mulugeta Gewe has a diverse work experience in the field of bioscience and research. Mesfin Mulugeta started their career as a Forest Expert at MEDROC Ethiopia; Ethio Coffee and Tea plantation and Marketing in 1998. Mesfin Mulugeta then worked as a Junior Researcher at the Ethiopian Agricultural Research Organization, Forestry Research Center from 1999 to 2002. In 2015, Mesfin joined Fred Hutch as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow and later became a Staff Scientist. Since 2018, Mesfin has been working at Lumen Bioscience, initially as a Scientist and currently holds the position of Senior Scientist.

Mesfin Mulugeta Gewe obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Washington, where they studied from 2009 to 2015. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2008, they completed a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Biology at California State University. Mesfin Mulugeta'sundergraduate education was at Alemaya University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Forestry, studying from 1995 to 1998.
