Robin S. Horrell

Robin S. Horrell M.D, Ph.D. is the Chief Medical Officer for LumeNXT where he focuses on strategies to improve surgical visualization. Robin has a variety of technical interests applicable to medicine, having formerly co-founded NeuroDynamX Inc. (1988), a company involved in the development of artificial intelligence software for decision-making through the interpretation of complex data sets. He holds two patents and owns IP related to medical and surgical illumination involving LED instrumentation through his company Dynamic Light, LLC. (1996). He was once a proficient computer programmer.

Dr. Horrell also serves as the Surgical Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO), Past Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology and a fulltime practicing Otolaryngologist Head and Neck surgeon at Billings Clinic, an integrated medical foundation healthcare organization, located in Billings, Montana. He has specialized interest in endocrine surgery. As CMIO Dr. Horrell primarily focuses on physician work-flow, and visualization strategies for medical information.

Dr. Horrell obtained his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, and completed his internship/residency in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Louisville. He also holds BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering (1985, 1987, and 1991). His post-graduate engineering degrees were earned from the California Institute of Technology (CalTech). His BS was earned at the University of Colorado.
