Jon McGuire is an experienced professional in laser technologies with a strong background in defense applications. Currently serving as the Vice President of US Defense at LUMIBIRD since July 2021, Jon focuses on expanding the presence of Quantel and Lumibird in government-funded markets while ensuring compliance with export regulations. Previous roles include Business Development Manager for Defense at Photonics Consulting and Product Manager at both Powerlase Photonics Ltd. and ANDRITZ Powerlase. With a solid foundation in laser engineering and management, Jon has also held positions at nLIGHT and Northrop Grumman, where expertise was developed in various capacities, including Laser System Engineer and Manager of Business Development. Jon holds a Master's degree in Optics from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Optical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
