Margarita Startseva

Margarita Startseva is the current Head of Hardware Engineering at Lumin. Prior to that, they were a Senior Software Developer at Parsons Corporation from December 2019 to January 2022. There, they researched and implemented an ML pipeline application for data scientists and business professionals. Margarita also architected and implemented control software solutions for environmental sensor applications using Java, C++, and C#. Additionally, they designed a shared software development knowledge repository to shorten the delivery lifecycle.

Before their time at Parsons Corporation, Startseva was a Software Engineer at BigBear, Inc. from September 2018 to November 2019. There, they were responsible for full-stack software development, from concept to testing, in an Agile/Scrum development process. Margarita implemented new tools and features for a large code base using Java in Eclipse IDE and improved UX/UI experience using Human Interface Design concepts.

Startseva's first engineering position was Engineering Project Manager at Micro Design Tech from June 2018 to January 2022. In this role, they were responsible for managing projects and ensuring they stayed on schedule and within budget.

Startseva began their career as a Software Engineer at Micro Design Tech in collaboration with TeGrex Technologies from January 2016 to June 2018. In this role, they were responsible for developing software solutions for clients.

Startseva began their professional career as an Assistant Portfolio Manager at Jarislowsky, Fraser Limited from February 2008 to November 2010. In this role, they were responsible for managing the portfolios of clients and providing them with investment advice.

Margarita Startseva has a Master's Degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia. Margarita also has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Ryerson University. In addition, they have a certification from DC Hiking and Backpacking in Backpacking Leader and a certification from Muay Thai University in Muay Thai Coach.
