Kelsey Kerlan

Kelsey Kerlan has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Their most recent position was as a Research Scientist at Lumos Labs (Lumosity) since January 2021. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate Research Scientist at the same company from May 2020 to January 2021.

Before joining Lumos Labs, Kelsey worked at MARIN FERTILITY CENTER as a Registered Nurse from October 2020 to April 2021. Their responsibilities included providing nursing care to patients in a fertility center setting.

Prior to their nursing role, Kelsey worked at UCLA Health as a Clinical Nurse - ICU from April 2019 to May 2020, where they gained experience in critical care nursing.

Kelsey's educational background includes a period of student nurse clinical experience at Duke University School of Nursing from September 2017 to December 2018, as well as being an ABSN Student at the same institution from August 2017 to December 2018.

Additionally, Kelsey has prior experience at Lumos Labs (Lumosity) as a Research Program Manager from August 2015 to July 2017. Their responsibilities in this role included managing and growing the Human Cognition Project research initiative, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring adherence to research policies and procedures. Before becoming a Research Program Manager, they worked at Lumos Labs as a Research Coordinator from March 2014 to August 2015 and also served as a Customer Care Team Lead and Customer Care Representative from October 2012 to February 2014 and February 2012 to October 2012, respectively.

Kelsey's earlier work experience includes being a Toy Expert, Cashier, and Salesperson at The Ark Toy Store from October 2007 to January 2012, and an Aide Supervisor at Ross Valley Summer School from June 2002 to July 2011. Additionally, they were a Research Assistant at UCSF from June 2009 to May 2010.

Kelsey Kerlan completed their education with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Duke University School of Nursing in 2018. Before that, in 2017, they attended College of Marin to study Health Services/Allied Health/Health Sciences, General, although the degree obtained is not specified. Prior to their time at College of Marin, Kelsey attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2006 to 2010, where they received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Cognitive Science. In 2009, they also engaged in a study abroad program at Eötvös Loránd University focused on Cognitive Science. In terms of certifications, Kelsey obtained the Registered Nurse certification from the California State Board of Nursing in January 2019. Kelsey also holds additional certifications, including Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association, obtained in March and November 2019, respectively. Furthermore, Kelsey acquired the NIHSS certification from The National Institutes of Health in September 2019.
