Doug Norton

Doug Norton has extensive work experience in the field of engineering and technical consulting. Doug has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.

Starting in 1994, Norton worked as a Consultant - Sr. Engineer at McDermott International Inc. Doug then moved on to Spectran Specialty Optics Company in 1995, where they served as a Sr. Applications Engineer. In 1997, Norton joined CiDRA as a Sr. Project Engineer.

After their time at CiDRA, Norton worked at Weatherford from 1997 to 2007, where they held the position of DTS Systems Manager. Following this, they joined Baker Hughes as a Sr. Technical Advisor from 2007 to 2011.

From 2011 to 2014, Norton worked at BMP Enterprises as an Engineering Manager. Doug then moved to Fiber Optic Pipeline Solutions, where they served as the Vice President of Engineering from 2014 to 2019.

In 2019, Norton joined AFL as a Regional Sales Manager - Industrial/Oil & Gas, a role they held until 2023. Currently, Norton works at LUNA Innovations as the Director of Product Management, Distributed Sensing, starting July 2023.

Doug Norton attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1982 to 1987, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
