Bryan Koene

Bryan Koene is an experienced Director of Materials Research with a background working for companies such as Luna Innovations, Triton Systems, and Luna Labs USA. Bryan has managed teams of Ph.D., MS, and BS scientists and engineers in new materials discovery, raised and managed millions of dollars in government and commercial research funding, and initiated and developed areas of expertise in multifunctional material development, including superhydrophobicity, self-healing, corrosion protection, and chemical/biological defense. In addition, they have experience as a Senior Scientist and Postdoctoral Research Fellow in nanomaterials and has personally raised over $4.5M in government and commercial research funding.

From 1986 to 1991, Bryan Koene attended the University of Waterloo, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry. Bryan then continued their education, earning a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the same university between 1991 and 1996.
