Ronan Furlong has a diverse work experience in various industries. In 2008, they worked as a Senior Development Manager at Dublin Airport Central, where they were involved in airport management and development. From 2011 to 2013, they served as the Director of Operations and Communications at The Green Way, an initiative promoting Cleantech innovation and enterprise. In 2013, Furlong joined DCU ALPHA (Dublin City University's Innovation Campus) as the Executive Director, responsible for the strategic development and management of the campus. In 2019, they became a Co-Founder of Luna Systems, a company in which their role is not specified.

Ronan Furlong completed their Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from University College Dublin - School of Architecture, which took place from 1989 to 1994. Ronan then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Trinity College Dublin - School of Business, from 2001 to 2002. Later, they enrolled in Dublin City University - Business School in 2011 to 2012, where they obtained a Post Grad in Sustainable Energy Finance.
