Sam Wevers

Sam Wevers has a diverse work experience in various roles related to software product management, energy markets, and legal consultancy. Sam is currently the Head of Software Product at Lunar Energy since June 2021. Prior to this, Sam worked as an Associate Director Software Product at Moixa from April 2020 to June 2021 and as a Senior Product Manager from April 2020 to April 2021. Sam also served as a Product Manager and Research and Strategy Manager at Centrica from January 2017 to April 2020, where they were responsible for market design, regulatory analysis, business development, and delivery of the Local Energy Market platform. Additionally, Sam worked as a short-term Consultant for Ecotricity in 2016, providing legal and regulatory advice. Sam also gained experience as a Consultant in the Energy Strategy, Networks, and Markets team at the Department of Energy and Climate Change in 2016, conducting research on flexibility in electricity markets. Prior to that, Sam worked as a Barrister and Solicitor at Russell McVeagh, specializing in public Law/Policy, litigation, and renewable infrastructure regulation. They also had a summer clerkship at Russell McVeagh in 2010.

Sam Wevers attended the University of Otago from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts (Japanese). In 2015 and 2016, they pursued a Master of Public Policy at the University of Oxford.
