Zachary Allen has a long history of work experience in the robotics and software engineering fields. Zachary began their professional career in 2013 as the Owner/Boss of iTZ Post Replacement, a fence post replacement business they started in their neighborhood. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as an Engineering Tutor at BOLD Center, tutoring students in courses similar to what they had previously taken. In 2016, they worked as a Software Engineer at Sunlight Photonics, researching simulation software used in unmanned aircraft system development. In 2017, they were a Software and Electrical Engineering Intern at Booz Allen Hamilton, equipping a Segway RMP with a 360 degree camera, a thermal camera, ultrasonic sensors, a 360 degree LiDAR system, a router, and two single board computers. In 2018, they worked as a Software Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton, using digital signal processing tools to analyze and engineer machine learning features for a set of RF communication signals. In 2019, they worked as a Robotics Engineer at Lockheed Martin, programming perception logic for autonomous convoy vehicles. In 2021, they worked as a Robotics Engineer at AION ROBOTICS. Currently, they are a Robotics Software Engineer at Lunar Outpost. Additionally, in 2020, they were a Kaggle Competition Participant, participating in a competition sponsored by Google to apply machine learning techniques to detect and classify deep fake videos from real videos.

Zachary Allen attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 2011 to 2017, graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Additionally, they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Science and a Minor in Applied Mathematics in Applied Mathematics from the same university.
