Jamie Scotcher

Jamie Scotcher is a PhD candidate at Lund University since October 2024, focusing on modern artificial intelligence algorithms, specifically in computer vision and audio analyses, to explore migratory phenotypes in songbird species. Previous experience includes roles as an Advanced Data Scientist and Data Scientist at biomodal, where data analysis and actionable insights were key responsibilities. Jamie also served as a Bioinformatics Scientist, developing data analysis tools and providing feedback for internal R&D. Prior positions include a Junior Bioinformatician at Eagle Genomics Ltd., Team Captain and Social Secretary at Queen Mary University of London Students' Union, a Student Intern at HART VETERINARY LIMITED, and a Research Assistant Intern at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. Jamie holds an MSc in Bioinformatics & Theoretical Systems Biology from Imperial College London and a BSc in Biology from Queen Mary University of London.
