Elena Dechant

Elena DeChant is a seasoned human resources professional with extensive experience across various industries. Currently serving as Senior Director of Human Resources Construction & Equipment and Corporate Talent Management at J.D. Irving, Limited since March 2023, Elena also holds a concurrent position as Senior Director of Human Resources at Lundin Mining Corporation, a role started in November 2018. Previously, Elena worked at Empire Life in multiple capacities including Director of Talent Management and Practice Lead, as well as HR Manager at INVISTA, Human Resources Advocate at Arclin, and Human Resources Manager at WalterFedy. Additionally, Elena has experience in financial analysis and organizational development from tenure at Research In Motion. An educator, Elena also taught Human Resources Skills at Conestoga College. Elena holds a BA in Honours Psychology specializing in HR Management from the University of Waterloo and is furthering education at Wilfrid Laurier University.
